Generique Label Media and the Social Brand Corporation, Version 2.0

Many moons ago, GeneriqueMedia penned an op-ed piece about his agenda. Today, it's time to reveal more, and update how it's gone insofar.

So sit back, grab your favorite drink, light a long lasting cigar, and let's discuss a new type of business.

And if you still think we're nuts, note that this brave new world of corporate structure fiddling is being pursued by many, and not just us.

This document is copyleft. You can copy it, share it, print it, add to it, what not have you. You may give appreciation to GeneriqueLabelMedia for it's creation, but this is a document part of a larger social experiment and as such is something of a scientific journal.

All ideas approached here will be explored. Some will be expanded upon, others abandoned.

This is the nature of Corporate 2.0.

Small, scalable, plastic. 

Since G|M's arrival on HubPages, we have strove to constantly evolve, communicate, follow, converse, help, and request assistance.

We have been largely open and courteous, social and participating in the communities we thrive upon.

But enough of us, let's talk about you. And me. And the We. For this is what G|M's principles are; social interconnections. It's a philosophy to listen to those who like our work, or those artists who we love, too. It's a two way road, and without that, G|M would be just your average corporation.

While others believe corporations as they exist now can be retrofitted for the betterment of society, we propose that we allow corporations as they exist now to slowly die, and in the wake leave many more interesting entities to their own new devices.

For us, a corporation is not about money. It's about the drive to get something done. And this is how we are structuring it.

Generique Label Media is a brand. A flag. A label. Nothing more, nothing less.

I am as part of it just as much as all of the other artists, patrons, audiences, and companies that provide us with the technology to create our works either directly or indirectly.

G|M's goal is not to be "for-profit." We are the anti-corporation. We are to help, connect, pay for, and market the projects created by all who fly our flag.

We are an economy of talent, money, and skill.

In this role, then, G|M's structure is quite fluid. All who enter have nothing to lose, and only market share to gain.

This is why it's important for us to play nice and to associate with the type of talent we enjoy and know others will, too.

G|M already has created and invested in a lot of community property:

• Universal Salon, a facebook group for like minded artists and thinkers.
• Time and Talent to learn how to become an audio engineer.
• Time and Talent in learning how to create videos, especially YouTube worthy.
• A little bit of money in recording equipment.

All of these things are part of what we bring to the table, and with the profit from our patrons we purchase and gain more skills and talent.

We are here to assist all persons be they Hubbers, friends, artists, writers, what-not-have you.

G|M stands for Creative Commons, but in doing so, they disrupt the old world media and add to the new world collective.

Creative Commons material can be copylefted anyway you want--even if you prefer to keep all rights to yourself!

I've spoken often of the opportunities your species has today. You have the ability to destroy, decimate, and enslave the global economy and society. Conversely, you've the ability to free it of many sociological, cultural, and financial issues, too.

Technology is a gift. It's also fraught with moral dilemmas.

I propose not revolution, I propose a renaissance.

To call myself an alarmist wouldn't be too far from the truth in many peoples eyes. I'm not an alarmist, rather, an empathic being who feels the collective whole of humanity sigh and cry often. But, for me, I'm the eternal optimist.

As an anarchist, I cannot help but fight for true freedom--not the idiocracy that has been created the world over. In the United States of Ameirca, for example, there's the Republican-Democractic National Convention. And if I glance around at the other democracies, they too are a "dual-party" system. Except a two party system is actually no system of choice at all.

With the implications set forth here, one can then readily observe and see through what G|M just may be. Beyond politics, social issues, financial problems, boarders, or bias, G|M is an attempt to stem the revolutionary tide.

Whether by design, fate, or zeitgeist, the world is becoming a more malevolent place in many ways.

That fact alone is apparent.

What's not apparent, to many, is the overwhelming love shining on so many faces to counteract this situation.

And, thus, I suppose in some naive attempt to sound as if I am a rebel with applause, this little social experiment brand corporation is my take on doing "something."
